Workshop 4 - Large Format Cameras, Schiempfug principle, Medium Format PC Lens

I shot this image so I can correct it using perspective controls in photoshop

This is the completed version of above. I had to use numerous controls to achieve this and I'm not just talking about the Black and White effect either. I used filter/distort utilising both vertical perspective and lens correction then I used tranform/distort and transform/slew to achieve what I believe is a straight image.

If I had shot this image straight on or with a tilt shift lens I would have been presented with an acceptabel image from the start and only minor adjustments for cropping and levels would be in order. Of course this would have defeated the pupose of the excercise.

We also had a play with the large format camera movements including schiempflug. The amount of control that a large format camera movements gives the photographer is second to none, not to mention the quality of the 5x4 film. I only wish I could could justify the time and expense of using one at work.
