Landscape Workshop

Had a ball walking up to Galbrator Rocks. I think I need to go back and shoot it properly though. Here a few images from the day.

Using the tilt function of a tilt shift I kept the focal plane vertical and running through the stalks and then the background on the right. Interesting but doesn't really work. Next shot is the same but laying the focal plane down.

I used a tilt shift on this to get the foreground and the background in focus. I'll have to play with tilt shifts in landscapes more often. I like the possibilities.

A shot demonstrating technique we blogged about (textures and shapes)

This one is shot using a tilt shift lens. An interesting effect, almost look like toys.

  1. What is it about the tilt shift that makes things look like railway diorama's?
